World Day of Migrants and Refugees

January 15th is the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which this year has been dedicated to “Child Migrants, the Vulnerable and the Voiceless”.

It is a theme of great importance, to which Enel Cuore is fully committed together with Fondazione Cariplo, Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione con il Sud, Fondazione CRT-Cassa di Risparmio di Torino, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena.

Together with these foundations, we promoted the call Never Alone, per un domani possibile. Accoglienza e accompagnamento dei minori e giovani stranieri non accompagnati che arrivano in Italia soli (Never Alone, for a possible tomorrow. Support and guidance for foreign minors and unaccompanied youth who arrive in Italy alone): an initiative that is part of a joint project by fourteen European foundations operating in Italy, Greece, Germany and Belgium, and which offers young migrants support and guidance in their path toward autonomy and integration.

The objective of Never Alone is not only to offer unaccompanied foreign children support in their transition to adulthood, but also to create greater awareness on issues related to young migrants, both in terms of public opinion and within institutions, in order to promote the creation of specific policies and adequate actions for such a rapidly growing phenomenon.

For all these reasons, it is extremely important to ensure the wellbeing and integration of young migrants.
