Enel Cuore supports the San Raffaele Hospital during the COVID-19 emergency

Enel Cuore and Milan’s San Raffaele Hospital fight against the Coronavirus together. The Enel Group’s charitable organisation has contributed to the creation of an area next to the Accident and Emergency ward for patients in need of respiratory support ahead of being transferred to Covid units. The new area of the hospital structure is dedicated entirely to Covid-19 patients: it is capable of accommodating up to 35 inpatients and is equipped with 7 beds for emergency cardiovascular care. Enel Cuore’s support is intended to respond to the need to upgrade the current hospital structures in Lombardy, by increasing their capacity for intensive care and creating new pre-triage reception structures in order to best organise the treatment of patients suffering from the coronavirus.

The donation is one of a series of measures introduced by Enel Cuore to respond to the epidemiological emergency and to support the social and healthcare organisations on the frontline. The Enel Group’s charitable organisation, indeed, has allocated 23 million euros for projects that have already been identified and others soon to be selected thanks to dialogue and continuous coordination with the Civil Protection agency and the national and regional authorities. Contributions will provide immediate support to activities that contrast the crisis and help hospitals and healthcare structures in their fight against the epidemic throughout Italy. Furthermore, donations will be earmarked for Third Sector organisations and local administrations to ensure backing for activities already under way and to support the following phase of recovery.
