The national awareness campaign “Non un mio crimine, ma una mia condanna” – which was by launched the non-profit organisation Bambininisenzasbarre Onlus and the national pilot project Spazio Giallo (Yellow Space), supported and shared with Lega Solidale B, Enel Cuore – was recently presented at the Department of the Penitentiary Administration and of the Regional Superintendency for Lombardy.
The project may also be supported by sending a solidarity SMS to the number 45503 – bambinisenzasbarre.org
On the occasion, the San Vittore Prison also inaugurated the renovated facilities of “Spazio Giallo”, the waiting area for children visiting their parent in prison.
This is the first programme that involves the support, guidance and care of the entire family and the first permanent workshop to raise awareness among prison staff.
Spazio Giallo is the first prison project of a new integrated system that involves a relational approach, as an integral part of the support network for prison in the city of Milan – San Vittore, Bollate and Opera – in addition to a network that is being created in the Secondigliano Prison in Naples.
“Enel Cuore supports families, especially when they are struggling through difficult times in which they are vulnerable and fragile, such as in the detention of one or both parents – declared Novella Pellegrini, Secretary General of Enel Cuore. Our non-profit organisation supports Bambinisenzasbarre in order to create spaces where families can experience “normal” family moments as father, mother and child. In the coming years, Enel Cuore will focus its efforts on the protection of children’s rights.”
After the presentation, the Candido Cannavò football field in San Vittore held a football match between prisoners with and without children, overseen by special guest referee Andrea Abodi, president of the National League B. A series of other matches were played simultaneously throughout Italy, in prisons in 15 cities where the National League B Championship is held: Ascoli Piceno, Avellino, Bari, Brescia, Cagliari, Cesena, Como, Crotone, Latina, Livorno, Modena, Novara, Perugia, Pescara, Vercelli, Salerno, La Spezia, Terni, Trapani, Vicenza, Chiavari (Ge), Lanciano (Ch). Prisoners with children played against prisoners without children, in collaboration with the Lombardy Department of Penitentiary Administration, the National League B League and the Lega B solidale association. Professional players and old champions from the National League B refereed the matches.
