Where there is now CasArché, there once was a kindergarten. CasArché is a new home created for mothers and their children, bringing new light and colours to Milan’s “complicated” Quarto Oggiaro district.
CasArché is an experimental community project, accredited by the Social Services and promoted by the non-profit organisation Arché onlus. Its activities cover three areas:
10 rooms for the mother-child community
an apartment to promote a semi-autonomous lifestyle
More importantly, CasArché is a place where mothers can begin a new life, also thanks to its promotion of solidarity, sharing and mutual support.
A shared “physical” location is crucial when building strong relationships, one that represents the HEART of a home. We are proud to have contributed to the creation of this home: “Spazio Enel Cuore – In the Heart of CasArché”, located in the centre of the community.
It is a bright space that opens up to the sky symbolising rebirth and new life. It offers a common area, where mothers can spend important moments together, offering mutual support, and staying close to their children.
The walls of CasArché will become very important for those who will live there: each door is the symbol of all the doors and windows that its guests have found closed in the past, and who now stand before a new door, which opens up to a bright, new future full of hope.
