The Enel Group’s charitable organisation has earmarked resources for the activities of the Civil Protection agency. The initiative is part of a wide-ranging programme of specific measures and projects to assist the main social and healthcare organisations all over Italy through 23 million euro in funding.

Enel Cuore, the Enel Group’s charitable organisation, is working alongside the Emilia Romagna regional administration in tackling the health emergency caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Enel Cuore has already made the donation to the regional administration led by Stefano Bonaccini, and this money is being earmarked in particular to the activities of the Civil Protection agency and to support hospitals and healthcare facilities throughout the region.

Indeed, thanks to this donation, new intensive care beds and pre-triage facilities will be set up at the following hospitals: Guglielmo da Saliceto Hospital in Piacenza, Infermi Hospital in Rimini, Maggiore Hospital in Bologna, Sant’Orsola Hospital in Bologna and Arcispedale Santa Maria Nuova in Reggio Emilia.

The donation to the Emilia Romagna region is part of a series of measures recently approved by Enel Cuore to respond to the coronavirus emergency and support the organisations providing social and healthcare assistance in Italy. The Enel Group’s charitable organisation has already allocated 23 million euro both for projects that have already been identified, as well as those soon to be selected, thanks to dialogue and continuous coordination with the Civil Protection agency and local and regional authorities on the frontline in the fight against the spread of the virus.
