On Sunday, 9 October, the streets of the municipality of San Felice sul Panaro, in the province of Modena, were in celebration for the inauguration of the new sports centre, an event attended by the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region and delegated commissioner for Reconstruction Stefano Bonaccini, the mayor of San Felice Michele Goldoni, the representative of the manager Wesport Modena Riccardo Breveglieri, and the head of the municipal technical office Anna Aragone.

The entire community was invited to participate in the inauguration amidst numerous sports performances that highlighted the new spaces of the sports centre, including a gym for five-a-side football, one for volleyball and basketball, a billiard room, a bar, and many multifunctional spaces. A real reorganisation made possible by the renovation and redevelopment of about six thousand square metres, to which we contributed our support and which returned this building to the community after the 2012 earthquakes.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the building also housed one of the two vaccine centres in the Northern Area, where over 59,000 doses of vaccine were administered, providing the area with additional support during the emergency period. For the next five years, the Sports Centre will be managed by Wesport, an organisation chosen by the municipality because it is attentive to inclusive projects, in which sports disciplines are considered a means of uniting, learning and growing.

"It is a great emotion for us to finally reopen the sports centre that we want to become the home of all San Feliciano sports, but which we would like to be a reference point for the entire community. A centre open to all citizens," said San Felice Mayor Michele Goldoni.
