Rome, July 21st, 2023 – The fundraising campaign promoted by Enel among the Group’s colleagues in Italy, aimed at supporting the Civil Protection Department of the Emilia-Romagna region working alongside the people affected by the flooding, has drawn to a close. Thanks to this initiative, and with help from Enel Cuore, the Group’s nonprofit organization, a total of 1 million euros were raised, which will be allocated to support targeted measures defined by the regional Civil Protection in order to rebuild the areas most heavily damaged by the flooding that hit the region in May.
“With this initiative, we intend to actively support the people of Emilia-Romagna, who are faced with the complex task of rebuilding after the devastating floods that hit the region,” said Leonardo Bellodi, Chairman of Enel Cuore. “Through the efforts and generosity of our colleagues at Enel, and with valuable help from Enel Cuore, we will be supporting Civil Protection authorities, who are hard at work to restore a sense of normalcy for the people, communities, and areas that have been affected by this emergency.”
E-Distribuzione also played its part in tackling the emergency. In just a few days, the company was able to restore power to roughly 55,000 households by supplying more than 170 electrical generators and rebuilding four primary and 300 secondary substations, along with 100 km of Medium Voltage lines and 10,000 electric meters.
