In L'Aquila, reconstruction after the 2009 earthquake is still an ongoing challenge. Most of the houses have been rebuilt, but the spaces that truly bring a community to life, such as places for meeting, socialising and growing, are still lacking in many areas of the city. Young people, especially those living in the more peripheral areas and in the housing complexes of the C.A.S.E. Project, face the daily risk of isolation, loneliness and resignation. ASD Nuovo Basket Aquilano is a nationally recognised social and sporting centre, which has been a fundamental point of reference for the city for years. The PalaAngeli, the facility where the Association operates every day, is a lively, welcoming place, capable of generating bonds, positive energy and hope. Here, basketball is much more than a sport: it is an opportunity for redemption, a training ground for life, a network of relationships that welcomes and supports. Together with ASD Nuovo Basket Aquilano, we support the NBA CARE project, created with the aim of accompanying and including young people living in conditions of greater economic and social fragility. The project consists of two main actions: NBA Minibus: the purchase of a minibus to transport young people to and from training sessions, matches and events. This is a concrete way to ensure continuity of participation and break down the logistical barriers that often hinder involvement. NBA CARE: support for 30 young people in need to participate in sport, covering all expenses for the 2025/2026 season. Registration, insurance, membership and clothing kits will be completely free of charge. With NBA CARE, we want to be an active part of a reconstruction that is not only about walls and infrastructure, but also about people, relationships and communities. We strongly support those who work every day in the area to offer young people tools for growth, confidence and a future.
