Caring means going beyond illness and looking at the well-being of the person as a whole. When it comes to children, this vision becomes even more urgent: a young patient needs treatment, but also needs to feel welcomed, reassured, and stimulated. That is why we have chosen to support a project that transforms the hospital into a place capable of conveying hope, trust, and beauty. Since 1992, the Salus Pueri Foundation has been supporting the Padua Pediatric Hospital, the largest institute in northeastern Italy dedicated to child care and an international reference point for highly complex care, therapeutic innovation, research, and teaching. Every year, this facility welcomes tens of thousands of children and families, offering specialist care and accompanying them on often difficult journeys. The Foundation is the driving force that, through the collection of resources and the promotion of projects, makes possible a broader vision of care, which also focuses on quality of life. The New Pediatric Hospital of Padua has just been inaugurated, a modern eight-story building that will bring together all pediatric, medical, and surgical wards. In this context, together with the Salus Pueri Foundation, we have chosen to support the project of humanizing the spaces, so that the hospital becomes a regenerating and therapeutic environment. Not just walls and corridors, but environments that speak of nature, color, and life. The concept, designed by the Duit Architecture Studio in Florence and inspired by the Botanical Garden of Padua, transforms the interior of the hospital into a journey through natural habitats: rainforests, grasslands, savannas, deserts, glaciers. Through lights, sounds, colors, and recreational spaces, we want to offer children an experience that stimulates curiosity and accompanies healing, making the impact of hospitalization less severe. Together with the Salus Pueri Foundation, we are committed to making the New Pediatric Hospital of Padua a place where children can feel welcomed, reassured, and encouraged to face their battle with more strength.
