On January 15th at 11:00 AM, at the Salesian Institute of Soverato, the "Opening Up to the Future" Project will kick off with an initial event. The project focuses on workforce integration paths and the strengthening of Third Sector Entities (ETS) to foster strong and welcoming communities.
Speakers at the event will include the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic, Public Prosecutor's Office of Lamezia Terme, Dr. Salvatore Curcio, and the Mayor of the Municipality of Soverato, Architect Daniele Vacca. Joining via video call will be the project coordinator, Dr. Veronica Dal Moro, along with collaborators from the AVSI Foundation.
The initiative involves interventions in the Calabria region, specifically in Soverato and Cosenza, with actions aimed at the training and integration into the workforce of NEET individuals (young boys and girls who are not studying, not working, and not in a training program) and migrants aged 16 to 24. Additionally, there will be a structured capacity-building path for local entities (ETS), supported by Enel Cuore, the non-profit organization of the Enel Group.
The overall objective of the intervention is to contribute to the promotion of dignified work and economic growth, synergistically supporting other goals of the 2030 Agenda, such as poverty reduction, inequality reduction, and the promotion of gender equality.
In Soverato, thanks to the action of the Salesian Opera, which is always attentive to the current needs of young people, an integrated approach will be proposed. This approach will enable the young project beneficiaries to experience guidance, training, and job support, using two motivational factors of genuine interest to local youth: employment and the territory, including its beauties and tourist-receptive resources.
