In many urban areas in Italy, such as the IV Municipality of Naples, severe educational poverty, social hardship, and family vulnerability have a harsh impact on young children. The lack of safe and stimulating spaces where vulnerable children and families can find support and opportunities for growth makes it urgent to intervene on behalf of children who are most at risk of deviance and marginalization. It is in this context that the A Voce de Creature Foundation operates, committed to the prevention and recovery of juvenile delinquency. The Foundation combats inequality and all forms of discrimination, promoting social inclusion for the most vulnerable sections of the population, with a particular focus on minors. With the project we support, “A Speranza de Creature,” the Foundation is giving new life to a property confiscated from organized crime - now part of the assets of the Municipality of Naples and granted on free loan - by transforming it into a free educational and recreational center. It is a welcoming space, designed to accommodate 50 children under the age of 5 who are socially, economically, and family vulnerable. The center caters to minors in the care of social services, children of parents who are incarcerated or subject to restrictive measures, children with disabilities, or children involved in juvenile court proceedings. For all of them, the Foundation creates personalized programs of support, play, and learning that strengthen their independence, skills, and emotional well-being. The project aims to help restore dignity and a future to a common good, taken away from illegality and returned to childhood, so that every child can have the opportunity to grow up in a place that protects them, values them, and makes them feel part of a community that cares for them.
