Addressing bullying is not only about giving young people the tools to defend themselves. Effective prevention begins before a single incident becomes part of everyday life, by creating spaces where girls and boys feel free to speak openly and where adults, both parents and teachers, can learn to recognize warning signs and play an active role in building relationships based on respect and inclusion. This is why we chose to support the “Together We Make a Difference” project, promoted by Associazione Bulli Stop APS, which aims to address bullying through awareness-raising and support services — including legal, educational, neuropsychiatric and psychological assistance — as well as educational programs designed to promote inclusion, mutual respect and shared responsibility. The Centro Nazionale Contro il Bullismo – Bulli Stop, managed by the Association, has been a national point of reference in the fight against bullying and cyberbullying for years and is supported by institutional and academic partners, including the Ministry of Justice, the Italian State Police and Roma Tre University. The “Together We Make a Difference” project was created to address bullying through a multidimensional and participatory approach, structured around several integrated activities: specialist support service: a free nationwide support service for young people, families and teachers, aimed at preventing and addressing bullying; school debates: structured meetings held in selected schools among the more than 50 partner institutions, led by experts and ROS – Ragazzi Operativi nelle Scuole volunteers. The debates will provide students with a safe space for discussion and reflection on bullying, helping raise awareness and encourage the sharing of personal experiences; theater workshops: a group program that will guide young people through every stage of creating and staging a performance, from preparing sets and costumes to interpreting different roles. The experience will help develop communication, collaboration, responsibility and the ability to coordinate work with others. The project is expected to involve 14,000 students from schools in Lazio, Campania and Puglia, through approximately 70 debates. Around 150 teachers and 80 families will also be involved, receiving support services focused on preventing and addressing bullying. Our contribution will support part of the costs required to carry out the activities, helping strengthen a prevention network that directly involves young people, schools, families and teachers.
